The TerraCotta Army

As you can see Shi Huangdi had no problem with safety after he died. When he turned thirteen Huangdi had his tomb built and it was still not finished when he died. Inside were an estimated 6,000 terracotta warriors(a type of clay). Each and every one of the warriors were brightly colored and some were on foot, horse, and chariot. Buried under 10' of dirt this motionless army was not meant to be seen or found.

  1. Thats a lot of clay. I can't imagine how much digging would have had to be done. Very interesting facts.
